Structural Engineer or PE (Independent Contractor) - Tiny Homes and Modular Homes Design Oversight
Job Description:
We are seeking an independent contractor to oversee the design and stamping process for tiny homes and modular homes. The ideal candidate will hold either a Structural Engineer license or a Professional Engineer (PE) license, with experience in residential construction and structural design.
Responsibilities:
Lead the structural design process for tiny homes and modular homes, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes.
Review and approve construction plans, specifications, and drawings.
Provide stamped documents certifying the structural integrity of designs.
Collaborate with architects, builders, and other stakeholders to develop cost-effective and innovative design solutions.
Conduct site visits and inspections to assess structural conditions and provide recommendations.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Either a Structural Engineer license or a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience in structural engineering and design, preferably in residential construction.
Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations.
Proficiency in structural design software and tools.
Strong communication and project management skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
