Our three unique concepts (Seoul Sausage, Mama Kim’s Korean Kitchen & Ono Grindz Cafe) operate out of our flagship "Window" location, and we are on the lookout for a Catering Manager to join our team and help us deliver top-notch food experiences to our corporate clients and beyond.
Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Catering Manager who has a background in cooking, catering, and a strong understanding of Korean cuisine and culture. This role will oversee the smooth operation of our catering events, manage food preparation and consistency, and ensure that our team maintains high standards of quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
1. Menu Updates & Development
- Maintain consistency with existing menus across all three concepts.
- Collaborate with owners to develop seasonal specials and menu updates.
- Train staff on new menu items and specials, ensuring proper execution.
2. Calendar and Event Management
- Manage prep calendars for all three concepts, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and efficiently.
- Coordinate event-specific preparation and onsite supervision, ensuring food is prepared and presented according to our high standards.
3. Food Preparation and Quality Control
Oversee food preparation to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to recipes.
Implement and maintain quality control measures, ensuring all food items are up to Seoul Sausage standards.
4. Food Safety & Sanitation
Monitor food storage and ensure proper hygiene standards are maintained in the kitchen.
Train staff on food safety protocols and best practices.
5. Inventory & Supply Management
Manage inventory for all ingredients and supplies, ensuring items are ordered and stocked as needed.
Maintain a cost-conscious approach to inventory control without compromising quality.
6. Staff Training & Development
Provide ongoing training on cooking techniques, safety procedures, and menu execution.
Foster a positive, collaborative kitchen environment by building and motivating a strong team.
Conduct regular performance reviews and offer feedback to support staff growth and development.
7. Scheduling and Administrative Duties
Create work schedules for kitchen staff, ensuring adequate coverage during prep and event execution.
Maintain accurate documentation of staff hours, event details, and inventory records.
8. Problem Solving & Adaptability
Troubleshoot and address challenges that arise during events, whether related to food preparation, timing, or last-minute changes.
Be flexible and adaptable in responding to changes in the event schedule, guest count, or menu requests.
Qualifications
Previous experience in catering or kitchen management (at least 3-5 years preferred).
Strong understanding of Korean cuisine and culture, with a passion for food and staying current with food trends.
Experience with menu development, food prep, and quality control.
Ability to manage calendars, schedules, and other administrative tasks effectively.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail and a positive attitude.
Food safety certifications (e.g., ServSafe, Manager ServSafe) are a plus.
