FOH Manager Description
Position overview:
Lemon Poppy Kitchen is seeking an experienced front of house manager to oversee the day to day operations and prepare for the future of our bustling brunch cafe. Our restaurant has been a hub of the Glassell Park community since 2012, and over the years has evolved from a hole in the wall strip mall joint serving mom & pop breakfast favorites to a full service restaurant with a unique menu, espresso service, seasonal drinks, beer & wine, large patio.
Ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, passion for hospitality, knowledge of food and beverage, upbeat and energetic presence to rally the troops. Also important is hands on experience and understanding of front of house work – server, barista, bartender, expediter.
You will be working alongside a wonderful team, chef, and owners; front of house staff is 8-10 people. Please bring to the table a proactive attitude in ongoing training, implementing service ideas and new items, and processes that will benefit your team and the restaurant. We are looking to collaborate and grow with someone who is interested and excited to be part of our team!
The position is evolving as the restaurant continues to grow and requires a mix of working on the floor or behind the counter, floor management, expediting, administrative tasks, and staff management. The expectation is 40-50 hours a week, including weekend and holiday availability and to consistently oversee and direct, as well as work alongside staff during busy hours on the floor.
Our current hours are 8am-4pm Monday-Sunday, but we may extend hours again in the future depending on economy and business needs.
Ideal candidate:
Has restaurant management experience in a high volume establishment with beer/wine and espresso service
Leads by example - punctual, organized, neat, always ready to help, positive attitude, focus and energy
Understands and has expediting experience - directing flow at the pass
Understands and has floor management experience - noticing when something is amiss and stepping in ie a table is waiting too long, a table looks unhappy, clean-up is needed
Has a passion for food, beverage and excellent customer service
Able to communicate clearly and timely with the team

Responsibilities:
Make sure daily operations are smooth
Maintain a clean and inviting space
Train and develop staff
Maintain a positive and productive work environment with clear expectations for the team
Review and update as needed - checklists for prep, pars, cleaning
Place orders
Manage and publish scheduling
Reconcile cash
Review payroll hours
Constant quality control of prep and menu items
Review and implement process changes with the team
Review and maintain professional certification logs - ServSafe, ABC, Sexual Harassment Prevention
Update maintenance and repair log as needed
Work closely with kitchen, bakery, and ownership to resolve issues as they arise
Individual meetings and performance reviews with staff annually
Weekly meeting with kitchen manager and managing owners
