As a Cashier Team Member, you’ll have the opportunity to work across multiple departments, gaining experience in each area while playing a key role in shaping our guest experience. Please note: we are a fully cashless operation no cash handling required.
Who You Are:
You’re a friendly, detail-oriented, and professional team player who thrives on delivering exceptional guest service. You’re organized, efficient, and capable of adapting to different departments while keeping a strong “guest first” mindset.
What You’ll Do:
-Serve as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience
- Operate our POS system (Toast) quickly and accurately with no cash handling required
- Rotate between departments (Bakery, Deli, Retail, Coffee Shop) as needed
- Stay current on bakery items, prepared foods, beverages, and seasonal offerings
- Assist with packaging, bagging, and ensuring orders are correct before leaving the counter
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the register and guest service areas
- Follow opening and closing procedures and assist with end-of-day reconciliations
What We’re Looking For:
- 1+ years of cashier, counter service, or guest service experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance, demeanor, and floor presence
- Ability to multitask and adapt across departments
- Familiarity with Toast POS a plus
Flexible schedule (part-time or full-time), including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting rate: $19/hour (this is not a tipped position Helms Bakery does not have tipped roles)
