La Gondola is a family owned restaurant of over 30 years and looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Host/Hostess to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive dining experience. You will be responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, seating guests efficiently, and ensuring the smooth operation of the front of house.
Responsibilities:
-Warmly greet guests upon arrival and departure.
-Manage restaurant reservations and the waitlist effectively and courteously.
-Accurately estimate wait times for guests.
-Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and any initial information needed.
-Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable host/hostess station and waiting area.
-Answer phone calls with professionalism and handle inquiries or take reservations.
-Assist with bussing and setting tables as needed to ensure efficient seating.
-Communicate clearly and effectively with servers, management, and other team members regarding table availability and guest needs.
-Handle guest feedback and concerns with grace and escalate to management when necessary.
-Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Qualifications:
-Previous experience as a host/hostess in a restaurant environment preferred.
-Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
-A genuine passion for providing exceptional customer service.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
-Basic computer skills and familiarity with reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable) is a plus.
