Server ($16 hour + tip)

Part time

Servers in the Miyako Hotel’s dining and event areas are ambassadors to our guests. Servers have longer exposure to our guests than other staff, and thus, have the greatest opportunity to inspire and impress guests with a superior level of service and sense of luxury. With that in mind, our servers must exhibit professionalism, with a neat, clean appearance and enthusiasm for hospitality. Servers ensure prompt ordering, delivery, presentation and quality of food and beverage orders to our guests in a manner that meets and/or exceeds all established and expected service standards, policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

Be prepared to serve the guest to the service standard levels that exceed guest expectations with a positive attitude.

Pleasantly greet and welcome guests with a smile promptly upon entering the restaurant or other dining / event spaces. Assist seating when needed due to high business levels, or absent host/hostess.

Introduce yourself and the menu to guests. Guide guests through wine, beer, spirits and meal selections using accurate, educated and tantalizing descriptions of our food and beverage offerings, as well as selling techniques, common food allergens, and sources of ingredients.

Take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner, verifying the accuracy of orders and amounts before communicating to the kitchen for preparation.

For Banquet Service — Serve menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner and according to the banquet event order; time the service of courses to correspond with the dining pace of the guests.

Prepare products for service to guests and present according to established safety, sanitation, and presentation standards.

Record order on guest check and ring up on pre-check register; and according to POS procedures. Complete customer payment transactions according to cash and charge procedures and ensure proper posting of all charges on checks.

Host/Hostess ($16 hour + tip)

Part time

The restaurant host oversees and coordinates activities of dining room personnel to provide professional, courteous and Superior Unique Service to all patrons. He/she greets all guests and seats them at their tables; monitors dining room service; and liaisons between the guests and the hotel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Greets guests according to Superior Unique Service standards and escorts them to their table.

Provides them a clean, accurate menu.

Answers the telephone according to Superior Unique Service standards.

Takes restaurant reservations and properly records them in the reservation system.

Completes the station plan and station assignments.

Monitors the speed and quality of service delivery.

Handles guest complaints in a professional and polite manner and reports them to the Assistant Restaurant Manager or Director of Food and Beverage immediately.

Provides information to the guest.

Inspects dining room for proper set up.

Inspects physical structure for attention by Engineers.

Opens and/or unlocks all doors and cabinets of the restaurant.

Monitors buffet service and cleanliness.

Checks completeness of side work.

Anticipates guests' needs and offers assistance.

Displays a courteous personality to guests and fellow staff.

Assists Assistant F&B Manager and Director of Food and Beverage in other matters as requested.

Maintains high standards of quality guest service.

Attends daily, weekly and monthly meetings as required.

Maintains working knowledge of Hotel Safety and Evacuation Plan.

Promotes teamwork within department and among all hotel staff.

Supports and implements the Hotel-wide procedures and Local Department procedures.

Supports and implements The Miyako Hybrid Hotel Superior Unique Guest Service Standards.

Reports to station, ready to work at the time tour of duty is scheduled to begin.

Knows and understands the hotel policy that regular attendance and punctuality is expected of all employees.

Food Runner ($16 Hour + tip)

Part time

Food Runners are an essential part of the hospitality industry. They usually work

as augmentation and assistance to the servers and are required to deliver food to the tables.

Since they are the last ones to look at the dish before presenting to guest, it is of the utmost

importance that they know what the dish is supposed to look like. They may be required to

answer questions about the food and the facility's service while serving the food.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Greet guest as they enter premise

Provide preliminary information regarding menu

Maintain exemplary knowledge of restaurant menus, as well as changing promotions and

specials

Prepare soups and salads when required

Interact and communicate with and between restaurant servers and kitchen staff.

Retrieve and deliver food orders in a timely manner

Clear plates and reset tables, and assist restaurant servers to ensure Guest satisfaction

throughout service

Communicate with Management and Kitchen staff to ensure prompt and efficient service

Stock glasses, silverware, and related supplies, and completes other duties as assigned
