Bored in the house? H2O Sushi & Izakaya is now hiring for Servers! Servers earn a great hourly wage and share in tips. Expect to earn anywhere from $4-$10 more per hour in tips depending on the day and time you work and your tip level! That's $20.90 to $26.90 combined!

Weekend availability is a must!

Tip levels are based on individual job performance.

Some job responsibilities include:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Included but not limited to)

Ensures tables are properly set including but not limited to dishes, napkins, eating/cooking utensils and side dishes, all according to pre-specified guidelines.

Welcomes guests and takes the time to explain the menu and concept to generate excitement.

Utilizing upsell techniques, explains specialty drinks and promotions. Specialty drinks and alcoholic beverages (for guests over 21 years of age) should be the first beverage offering after the welcome and explanation of the menu.

Utilizing POS ordering technology, accurately inputs guest headcount, food and drink orders.

Communicates any guest food allergies to the kitchen staff and manager on duty.

When running food or drinks to guest tables, this person ensures the food is presentable and accurately delivered to the proper guest.

Conducts frequent guest “check-ins” to ensure satisfaction of food or to take additional orders. For the purposes of this item, “frequent” refers to at least once, every 5 minutes.

Take initiative and encourage team members to work efficiently.

Partners with either the Host(ess), Assistant General Manager or General Manager to settle guest checks.

Work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.

Frequent customer interaction during dining experience (table touching).

Is responsible for busing and pre-busing duties during and after the dining experience.

Cleans restaurant work spaces as needed or directed by the General Manager or Kitchen Lead.

Works well in a team environment with all levels of team members.

Exhibits professional and effective communication amongst both FOH and BOH staff.

Ability to interact with a variety of external customers as well as internal customers.

Immediately reports concerns and possible policy violations to the General Manager or manager on duty.

Follows all Company policies and procedures.

Maintain the restaurant, including, but not limited to, dusting, sweeping, cleaning, and food/equipment prep.

Reports poor quality food and issues with restaurant equipment to supervisor on duty, immediately.

Ensures the use of all personal protective equipment and abides by all safety rules and regulations.

100% compliance with all food safety/sanitation rules and regulations.

Reports to work on-time according to the set shift.

Communicates any planned absences, at least 4 hours in advance.

Is directly responsible to take all provided paid rest breaks according to state and local labor code requirements/regulations. Note that training will be provided, however, it is the responsibility of the server to take his or her breaks on their own, on time, as required by the company and according to state or federal guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English required. Multi-lingual highly preferred.

Excellent customer service and hospitality skills required.

Positive, can-do attitude and demeanor.

Availability to work 2-5 days out of the week including weekends.

Active Food Handler Certificate or Card required.

Required Education

High school diploma/GED

Required Length & Related Experience

0-8 months prior restaurant operations (FOH) experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (i.e. 6+ hours).

Ability to push, pull and lift up to 15 lbs.

Frequently works in a warm environment, next to or directly in front of hot cooking equipment.
