Your talent starts here! We are looking for a Head Chef with Japanese cuisine experience. Must have restaurant kitchen experience and must be able to have strong leadership skills. Your role as a chef is to check freshness of food and ingredients this includes freshness of fish which is very high demand for a Japanese sushi restaurant.
. Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and other preparation workers.
. Develop recipes and determine how to prepare and present dishes
. Plan menus with general manager/partners and ensure consistency and quality of meals and fish
. Inspect deliveries with suppliers, produce, meat, fish and dry goods, train kitchen staff to always check for freshness and to assist with deliveries.
. Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas for cleanliness and functionality/report to GM for any malfunction equipment.
. Train and supervise cooks with new menu items
. Order and maintain an inventory of food and supplies
. Monitor sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standards along with restaurant standards and health department standards.
. Communicate and operate with General Manager at all times
. Must maintain a professional strong demeanor and be respectful with all staff
