COOK / SUSHI HELPER
Jade Beverly Hills on Canon Drive is seeking experienced cooks looking for the opportunity to open and grow with a new sushi focused concept, offering a casual upscale experience with small plates, crudo, rolls and a limited kitchen menu, as well as wine, sake and cocktails. We aim for a successful dinner and dine in/take out lunch service, with plans to add a late night service at a later date. The menu has already been developed, but there is also an opportunity to put your own influence upon the food as well!
Candidates will ideally have some Japanese restaurant experience and are looking for a new challenge: be part of a small, flexible team, working together with a kitchen manager and sushi chefs to execute a small, focused menu.
Responsibilities:
- Work together with kitchen manager and sushi chefs to prep and execute our menu, following the recipes we’ve developed, with opportunity to modify/grow the menu as needed!
- Manage and train kitchen staff, including leads, cooks, dishwashers
- Maintain Cleanliness and organization of the kitchen/prep area
- Ensure compliance with Health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
- Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages to the kitchen manager
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- English speaking, reading and writing
- Minimum of 2 years kitchen experience.
- Preferred 2 years experience with Japanese food
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
- Food Handlers certified
