Assisted Living Part-Time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

A new Assisted Living facility is looking for a Part-Time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to support the facility and its team by conducting the nursing functions for the facility’s residents in accordance with Federal, State, Local and the facility’s rules, regulations and guidelines. As a licensed nursing practitioner, this role is crucial in ensuring the wellness and dignity of the facility’s residents.

Responsibilities:

Perform nursing functions and services, including medication management and medical emergency response throughout the facility and supervise Care Partners during scheduled shift.

Assist in completion of new admission and/or discharge of residents. Interface with residents' physician/s regarding residents' condition, medications, and appointments or treatment.

Conduct rounds of residents as required. Observe and report symptoms and conditions of residents to the facility Administrator and/or Physician in charge. Administer emergency first aid if needed.

Administer medications and treatments per signed doctor’s orders in an accurate and safe manner. Observe effectiveness and report to physician as needed.

Inform Administrator and/or Physician in charge if and when supplies and equipment are needed. Check equipment for cleanliness and condition. Order medication from pharmacy as necessary.

Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports and submit these as may be required.

Assist in the orientation of new staff and provide guidance when needed.

Promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships with residents, visitors and personnel.

Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

Current proof of LVN License/Registration in the State of California.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

At least six months to one year of related experience and/or training, preferably working with seniors in assisted living, home health, rehabilitation or other long term care environment.

Be in good health (physically and mentally; able to perform required tasks).

Must demonstrate empathy and a strong ability to assess, plan, coordinate and delegate the delivery of patient care.

Must demonstrate consistency following established care protocols per facility guidelines.

Must be fully vaccinated and have the necessary and applicable boosters.

Observe and maintain complete confidentiality/privacy, as per HIPAA.

Mandated Reporter of any suspected elderly abuse, neglect and/or harassment (e.g., physical, mental, sexual, etc.).
