Lead Medical & Surgical Technician Needed!

The Lead Medical and Surgical Technician at Rejuva Medical Aesthetics is an allied health professional who ensures proper execution and efficiency of support to practice providers and surgeons in the clinic and during locally anesthetized surgical procedures. They will perform routine clinical and administrative duties under the direct supervision of a physician or other health care professional.

This includes but is not limited to leading the Medical Assistant department, overseeing overall Medical Assistant support flow, support schedule management, patient rooming and intake, procedure set-up, assisting non-sterile procedures, and immediate patient after care, assisting with surgical procedures in clinic procedure rooms. Rejuva places an emphasis on client satisfaction, and it is expected of the Lead Medical and Surgical Technician to be knowledgeable of all procedures offered and to have a positive and outgoing personality. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

- Support and promote positive team atmosphere.

- Schedule all Medical Assistants based upon the needs of booked appointments. Monitor the schedule on a daily/weekly basis and adjust current and future schedules as needed.

- Evaluate Medical Assistant knowledge on offered services and procedure assistance. When necessary, schedule one-on-one shadow training or training with a vendor representative and re-evaluate once complete.

- Attend weekly Department Manager meetings. Prepare to report on overall performance of the Medical Assistant team, address any concerns, and work with the other Department Managers on implementing any new changes.

- Manage all Medical Assistants and patients/treatments they are assigned to. Always have a clear understanding of room and patient status by monitoring patient intake and getting verbal communication from Medical Assistants whom are actively supporting in treatment rooms. Can be used for treatment setup or assistance as last resort.

- Organize monthly meetings with the Medical Assistants and update the team on pertinent updates and changes.

- Delegate duties as needed on a daily or weekly basis. Evaluate the performance results of each task assigned.

- Assist the Practice Administrator or Office Manager in reporting performance evaluation feedback.

- Follow and ensure accuracy of all opening and closing duties.

- Oversee room management and cleaning and order supplies as needed.

- Assist Practice Administrator or Office Manager in ordering service supplies.

- Maintain and organize all machines in office (cleaning lasers, calling for maintenance, checking fluid levels).

- Exhibit excellent phone and customer service skills.

- Ensure all supplies needed for daily procedures are stocked and plan for larger procedures.

- Collect, prepare, and arrange laboratory services.

- Record patient vital signs.

- Explain treatment procedures and discuss procedure prices with patients.

- Prepare and administer medications as directed.

- Authorize drug refills as directed.

- Draw blood.

- Prepare and organize the operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies as required for various surgical procedures

- Anticipate surgeon and patient needs during a procedure

- Take care of specimens, prepare, check and monitor medications, and assist with dressings.

- Set up sterile and sanitary environment, and maintain sterile filed for the patient during procedures

- Utilize correct body mechanics in moving, transporting, and positioning patients, stretchers, and/or tables in order to prevent injury to patient and personnel

- Follow relevant safety and sanitation guidelines

- Inspect and replace medical instruments as needed

- Dispose of contaminated supplies.

- Provide surgeons and patients with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

- Room patients for all providers (MD, PA, or RN) and conduct intake and patient history.

- Present patients to providers including previous treatments and chief complaint.

- Set up, clean up, and assist in all procedures

- Take photographs for each patient before treatments are administered and after as needed.

- Scribe for providers including completion of clinic notes and sending e-rx when required.

- Prepare Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport for injection.

- Prepare dermal filler syringes for provider including attachment or needle/microcannula.

- Reception tasks including scheduling patients, preparing charts, and patient check out.
