Med Tech Functions:
This position provides medication assistance and direct care assistance to assisted living and memory care residents in a senior living community. PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE IN MED TECH POSITION AT ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES
Assist residents with self-administered medications, perform proper storage, security and documentation of centrally stored medications, ensure order of medical supplies, monitor residents for any changes both physical and mental. Safeguards records required to be kept in the Med Room such as centrally stored etc
Assist with the passing of medications as directed by the doctor.
Make resident rounds every two hours as required in residents service plans or as circumstances dictate.
Record and report changes in residents' condition to the supervisor included but not limited to changes in resident's ability to perform activities of daily living, skin changes, bruising etcUse approved charting criteria and procedures to record pertinent information in resident charts. Immediately report all incidents or accidents involving residents to the supervisor and record all necessary information on the resident Incident and Accident Reporting Form.
Follow proper procedures in emergency situations and respond promptly and positively to resident's request for assistance, including emergency pull cords, telephone calls and request from family and friends.
Correct and prevent environmental hazards in an appropriate manner while observing universal precautions and infection control procedures.
