A full-time bi-lingual Back office Receptionist/ Medical Assistant is wanted for an immediate opening in a busy medical office.

The Medical Assistant works with the physician and other members of the primary or specialty care team by performing a variety of clinical and administrative patient-related duties. The medical assistant also works to fulfill a variety of patient needs and ensures smooth patient flow within the department. The ideal candidate will also have some front desk experience and will be cross-trained to occasionally help to support the front desk as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities
Greet patients on the phone and in person
Place patients in the exam rooms
Take vital signs and perform ancillary tests appropriate to skill level
Assist and setup up for providers during examination, treatment, and procedures
Keep accurate patient files
Apply dressing, bandages, and splints as ordered by provider
Ensure rooms are stocked with necessary supplies
Maintain a sanitized and safe working environment
Maintain HIPAA
Coordination of services between multiple practices demonstrable by excellent communication skills
Schedules appointments as needed
Communicates clearly on the phone and accurately documents and assigns messages
Confirms and updates contact information for all patients at every contact
Makes follow-up calls for any messages left
Documents appointment visit status, including rescheduled, cancelled, confirmed, left voice message, or any other status appropriately
Additional front office responsibilities as needed
Perform other medical assistant duties as necessary
Requirements:

Ability to show attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all levels of staff
Basic typing skills to input various data into Information systems
Experience in an outpatient practice
Able to coordinate services, assist patients with office, medications and procedure authorizations and explain process to patients
Ability to use EMR and perform chart abstraction into EMR
Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft office
Ability to prioritize work efficiently
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and writing skills
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Must be able to multi-task and be flexible in changing work assignments at short notice, which includes increasing work hours as needed to cover the practice needs
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting
Education and Experience
2+ Year of medical assistant experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
