1:1 Aides for petite, young woman with Cerebral Palsy
Time to add to our weekend team of dynamic and dedicated young women providing 1:1 care, support and aide with all personal, social, vocational, recreational, and daily living activities for physically challenged young woman with Cerebral Palsy.
Young woman is petite, bright (UC Berkeley grad), good humored, thoughtful, and determined to live her most independent life. But to do this she needs the support of some very special aides like you. She is quite capable, but also quite physically compromised and needs a lot of assistance.no lifting, but needs help with walking, transfers, transportation(our family vehicle) and all ADLs. Experience with physical disabilities helpful but not requiredwill train. Support is provided in the home as well as community settings.
Open shifts: #1 Saturdays 5pm - 9am Sunday (Overnight hours are paid asleep hours, but must be very light sleeper to be able to respond to night needs). #2 Sundays 9am-5pm . Sub hours often available too!
Seek bright, caring, warm, highly responsible and reliable candidates who seek a job where they can truly make a difference and are able to provide the support and assistance necessary for this young adult to grow and flourish in her life and career. Provide emotional support, encouragement, and friendship too. Also great for those interested in human service fields.nursing, PT, OT, speech pathology, social work, counseling, etc.
Required: Valid CA driver's license with good driving record. Strong communication, writing and apple computer skills. Physically fit. Covid vaccinated and boosted. Bachelors degree preferred not required. Light sleeper for overnight shifts. , Good humored and ready willing and able to drive and support client on Saturday night outings. A big heart and a nurturing nature required.
