REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

Critters Without Litters is a high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter and wellness clinic located in Humboldt County, California. Our mission is to improve the lives of companion animals by providing affordable spaying, neutering, and wellness care. We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician with the following skills:
Monitor and care for animals before, during, and after surgery
Intubate, medicate, and prep animals for surgery
Assist veterinarian during spay and neuter surgeries and other medical procedures
Prepare surgical equipment and ensure a sterile environment
Administer medications and vaccinations
Educate clients on post-operative care and answer questions
Perform blood draws and laboratory tests
Maintain accurate medical records and patient files
Maintain daily, weekly, monthly controlled substance drug log
Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure the highest standard of care for all patients
Qualifications include previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and compassion, patience, and empathy towards animals and their people. MUST HAVE A CURRENT CALIFORNIA REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN LICENSE.
Compensation begins at $30 to $35 per hour, depending on experience, and we offer paid holidays, paid vacation, and reimbursement for continuing education and license fees.
