Surgical Technician for South Bay Facial Plastic Surgery Practice
Job Purpose:
o Maintain a high level of patient satisfaction by providing an exemplary level of service to patients as well as a high level of assistance to the physician.
o Provide assistance with medical care, procedures and other duties associated with maintaining a successful medical practice.
Duties:
o Maintain a tidy and stocked medical area.
o Contribute to physician's effectiveness by setting up the patient room(s).
o Performs specified functions to meet the requirements of each approved procedure
o Assembles supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians’
preference cards
o Follows principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating/procedure room procedures
o Adheres to aseptic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for the
procedure
o Contribute to physician's effectiveness by setting up the patient room(s).
o Arranges instruments according to given procedure
o Anticipate physician and patient needs.
o Maintains availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays
o Maintains and updates instrument cards and surgeons’ preference cards
o Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal information.
o Prioritize office tasks and the physician's requests in order of medical importance.
o Understand practice protocol by learning about and following policies and procedures.
o Provide back-up to front office, as needed.
