Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker to join our team, specializing in Filipino pastries. The ideal candidate will be proficient in preparing various traditional Filipino treats such as ensaymada, pandesal, bibingka, hopia, and other beloved delicacies. You will be responsible for the preparation, baking, packaging, and shelf life of these pastries, ensuring they meet the highest standards in quality, taste, and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and bake a variety of Filipino pastries, breads, and desserts based on traditional recipes and customer preferences.
Develop formulations to manage costs and maximize shelf life.
Ensure baked goods consistently meet quality standards for appearance, texture, and flavor.
Collaborate with the team to develop new pastry offerings and seasonal menu items.
Create packaged goods within packaging, cost, and shelf-life constraints.
Recommend baking equipment for cost efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Baker, preferably with Filipino pastries.
Knowledge of Filipino pastry recipes and baking techniques.
Strong understanding of baking principles, including mixing, proofing, and baking times.
Ability to work early mornings and flexible hours to meet production demands.
Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality baked goods.
Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.
Preferred Skills:
Creativity and innovation in modernizing traditional Filipino pastries.
Basic knowledge of baking science and how ingredients interact to achieve desired results.
Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment like mixers, ovens, proofers, and dough sheeters.
