Hiring part/full time delivery drivers for non-storefront delivery business.
Please read this entire post and ensure all requirements are met before applying. I kindly ask that we do not waste each others time. There is zero flexibility on the subsequent requirements.
All shifts will be started and completed from our depot in the LA area, and our delivery serves Maywood, Bellflower, Lynwood, Paramount, Downey, Bell Gardens, South Gate, Compton, Cudahy, Bell, and other surrounding nearby areas within Los Angeles county.
Duties:
- Safely and efficiently operate your personal vehicle to transport goods to customers
- Plan and follow designated routes to ensure timely deliveries
- Load and unload products from the vehicle using appropriate equipment
- Verify the contents of each delivery against packing order
- Provide exceptional customer service by delivering products with a friendly and professional attitude
- Communicate effectively with customers to address any concerns or issues
Qualifications:
- Valid CA drivers license, registration, & insurance.
- Previous experience in route driving or delivery preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to load and unload products, including heavy items, as necessary
- Consistent availability. Do not apply if you call off from your shifts often. You will be the sole driver on duty, so calling off from confirmed shifts without documented cause will result in immediate termination.
Requirements (DEAL BREAKERS):
- Must have reliable vehicle for transportation to and from inventory hub, and to all locations within company delivery region
- Must be able to pass background check (no felony convictions, or theft/financial related misdemeanor convictions)
- Must be able to pass DMV motor vehicle check (no at-fault accidents or moving violations in the past 18 months)
- Must have availability of at least 30-40 hours
- Must have secure space in trunk or back seats for inventory crate(s) (NO OPEN BED TRUCKS)
- Must be comfortable working independently in vehicle for up to 8 hours (dispatcher provides assistance via phone)
- Must be able to load/unload inventory crate(s) at start & end of shift (approx. 75 lbs, 18" x 14" x 37.5")
- Must be available to work either of the following schedules;
- 3pm-11pm, Wednesday through Sunday OR
- 3pm-11pm, Friday through Tuesday
- Must be willing to adhere to all company policies & procedures
Prior licensed retail or licensed distribution experience is strongly recommended but not required.
Compensation will be determined upon experience - starting @ $17/hour + gas allowance.
Gas allowance is based on average gas price and average MPG for your vehicle.
Example:
Average local gas price (87 Octane): $4.50
Average MPG for 2020 or newer vehicle: 30 MPG
$4.50 / 30 = $0.15 per mile
Based on the rate determined in the example above, the gas allowance for this scenario is $0.15 per mile. Actual allowance will vary based on your vehicle and current gas price.
Mileage incurred during the delivery route & to/from hub will be paid based on determined gas allowance. Additional miles outside of the delivery task will not be included in the gas allowance.
