Job Description: Housekeeper

Salary: $25/Hour
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable housekeeper to assist a busy family of four. The housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the household, providing pet care, and assisting with some childcare duties. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently. The housekeeper will work 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
Spanish-speaking candidates are welcome, but we prefer bilingual individuals who can speak and understand English to effectively communicate with the family and staff.
Responsibilities:
The housekeeper will be responsible for the following overall list of tasks. Please note that these responsibilities are not all daily but part of the overall duties to maintain a well-organized and clean household:
Daily Vacuuming: Vacuum all floors to maintain cleanliness.
Coffee Maker Maintenance: Clean out milk and other residues in coffee makers daily.
Dusting and Wiping: Dust and wipe down all surfaces, including walls, shelves, frames, jars, baseboards, etc. Weekly floor washing and deep bathroom cleaning are required, rotating between floors based on the day of the week.
Laundry Duties: Wash, fold, and put away laundry in the appropriate locations.
Dry Cleaning Management: Separate dry cleaning items appropriately and put them away once they return.
Dish Management: Clean and put away all dishes, maintaining a tidy kitchen.
Appliance Maintenance: Clean out the dishwasher, laundry machine, and dryer weekly to ensure proper functioning.
Bedding: Change bedding weekly for all household members.
Rug Maintenance: Maintain rugs with quarterly cleaning from carpet cleaners.
Floor Cleaning: Perform deep floor cleaning quarterly to keep all flooring in excellent condition.
Window Washing: Wash windows twice a year to ensure they are clean and clear.
Brass and Silver Polishing: Regularly polish and clean brass and silver items.
Pantry Organization: Keep the pantry organized and clean, ensuring it is well-stocked.
Drawer, Closet, and Cabinet Maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain all drawers, closets, and cabinets to keep them organized and tidy.
Pet Care: Wash bedding and clean the food and water bowls for the family’s small dog, Madden, on a weekly basis.
Trash Removal: Remove trash daily from the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
Supply Replenishment: Ensure toilet paper and tissues are always available in all bathrooms.
Outdoor Maintenance: Check and clean outdoor areas, including landscaping, chairs, tables, and the playhouse.
Daily Tidying: Ensure the house is put together and organized in all rooms by the end of each day.
Children’s Sports Bags: Organize and put back together the children’s sports bags, hanging them appropriately.
Turn Down Beds: Prepare beds for sleeping by turning them down each evening.
Room Freshening: Spray all rooms with linen or room spray daily for a fresh atmosphere.
Organizational Tasks: Ensure all items are put back where found and labeled correctly to maintain order.
Refrigerator and Freezer Cleaning: Regularly clean and organize the refrigerator and freezer.
Pantry and Fridge Stocking: Ensure the pantry and fridge are always stocked and communicate with the assistant to make sure supplies do not get low.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a housekeeper or in a similar role is preferred.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Must be comfortable working around children and pets.
Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules and needs, including availability to work additional weekends with prior notification (additional pay will be provided for this time).
Bilingual candidates preferred (Spanish/English).
