About the Company:

We are an early-stage biotech startup working on two of the most-pressing issues of our time: climate change and animal welfare. We are engineering plants to produce bovine milk proteins, making dairy without cows. Our casein will be used to make indistinguishable dairy products that are cheaper and have a fraction of the environmental impact.

Our research facility is located in downtown Los Angeles and we’re actively looking to expand our team.

Job Description:

We are looking for a facilities associate to join our team. The right candidate will be experienced in janitorial responsibilities in a commercial setting. You will be responsible for ensuring that the laboratory, offices and common spaces are kept clean throughout the workday. In addition to standard janitorial responsibilities you will assist our facilities team with cleaning specific to our research facility. The right candidate must be flexible and adept at learning as our research evolves.

Primary responsibilities include:

Take out trash throughout the facility.

Keep restrooms stocked and clean throughout the workday.

Remove trash and recycling as deliveries arrive.

Sweep and mop floors.

Clean the break room including washing dishes after lunch.

Manage laundry keeping clean towels always stocked.

Keep the exterior of our building free of trash.

Monitor that trash and recycling bins are emptied on the proper schedule.

Clean glassware and other lab items.

Run errands as needed to local businesses.

Requirements:

1 year of experience in a janitorial position.

Excellent time management and organization skills.

Ability to meet agreed upon deadlines, manage time effectively and work efficiently.

A service minded attitude with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Ability to walk up and down stairs carrying materials.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle to use for lab errands.

Passion for learning and contributing to a game-changing project.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Applicants must be able to commute daily and work from our laboratory located in Downtown, Los Angeles CA.
