Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely loading, unloading, moving, and storing materials in the yard and warehouse. This position supports daily operations by handling materials efficiently and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with company policies and California safety standards.
Essential Duties
- Operate forklifts and related equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with Cal/OSHA requirements and company procedures.
- Load and unload vendor, delivery, and customer vehicles as directed.
- Move, stack, and organize materials to maintain clear aisles and safe storage areas.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety issues.
- Pull and stage materials for orders and deliveries accurately.
- Verify paperwork before loading any vehicle — no loads without proper documentation.
- Assist with inventory control by reporting shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
- Keep the yard and warehouse clean, orderly, and free of hazards.
- Follow all safety rules and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, drivers, and managers/leads.

Qualifications & Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Regular standing, walking, lifting, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to lift or move up to 100 lbs safely with proper technique or assistance.
- Work performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to weather, dust, and noise.
- Spanish language ability preferred (not required).
- Valid Forklift Operator Certification (Cal/OSHA compliant).
