Giving Tools and Heavy Equipment to the Homeless

I work for and run a formally well funded non profit specializing in assisting the unhoused population amongst us.

As I mentioned above, we WERE formally well funded until DOGE shut down USAID and its funding networks. While we're sad to report that we got our final tranche of funding, we are proud to announce that we're using the last of our resources to fund a final program which we believe will have a lasting positive impact on our unhomed neighbors.

My team has allocated all of our remaining funding to equip the unhoused population with the tools to create tangible, lasting change. We believe that by equipping them with actual, physical tools which they can use to build. Not only build physical structures like homes for themselves (which cannot be taken down as easily as tents), but build their careers in finding jobs in construction, maintenance, repairs, and other manual labor odd jobs which require little educational or bureaucracatic requirements.

The materials you will be distributing:

Drywall

Rooftiles

Copper pipes

Irrigation material

Wood planks

Nails/Screws/Hammers/Screwdrivers

Saws/Chainsaws/Powertools

Crowbars

Welding torches

Pick axes

Shovels

Ideally, we want to hire 60 people to hand all these materials out to the homeless. Many of these items are heavy so please be able to lift up to 50lbs, but we will have wheelbarrows and other transportation aids for disabled staff/volunteers.

In terms of a success plan we have 15 contractors hired to help teach the unhoused how to build their new homes! If our estimates are accurate, this means we should have over 100 "houses" our homeless brothers and sisters have built for themselves in parks and in neighborhoods throughout Pasadena, Glendale, and Silverlake before the end of 2026.

As I mentioned, we will be using our last remaining USAID money to fund our volunteers ($7,000 per week) but if you are a person who wants to volunteer we would love to have you as well!

If you are interested, please send us an email! Please list your age, any volunteer experience you may have, what inspires you in life and your phone number, as our team would like to have a brief screen call with you before moving through the process.

Thank you so much for your time, lets change some lives together
