MPC is a company that provides a variety of wet paint options for customers in the architectural, industrial, marine, defense and commercial industries. A variety of epoxy, enamel, and zinc based paints. We routinely paint large tank interiors and exteriors, steel structures, and architectural beams that are subject to harsh chemicals and marine environments. Location: Santa Fe Springs

Schedule: Monday to Friday 5am to 1:30pm

Salary: (Depending on your experience)

Powder Coater: $20-$25/hour +

Liquid Coater: $30-$35/hour+

- Must know how to apply 100% High Solid Epoxies and Polyurethanes

MUST KNOW HOW TO USE AN AIRLESS SPRAY SYSTEM AND PLURAL SYSTEM

If you have no experience with these systems don’t apply!

-5 Years Experience of relevant work experience NECESSARY.

- Experience mixing paints and chemicals per process sheets and specifications.

- Experience with industrial coatings application process, 2-part , 3-part mixing process, TDS sheets.

-Experience using test instruments to measure painted surface Dry Film Thickness, and adhesion strength

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervises and supports the general work activities of the department: prepping surfaces (sanding, washing, cleaning, masking, painting.

Supervises and supports the work of other painters to ensure that they are producing thru the proper specifications by reviewing painting requirements, surface preparations and paint applications, and maintaining equipment.

Provides training for painters in all aspects of the paint process: paints and chemicals mixing per technical data sheets and specifications; paints and chemicals proper curing by air drying, oven baking or other methods; spray paint gun operation and paint application per work instructions and drawings.

Maintains equipment by troubleshooting malfunctions, completing preventive maintenance requirements and schedules.

Maintains safe conditions by following guidelines and procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous chemicals and waste.

Prepares and maintains production reports.

Follows production schedules and supports on time delivery. Actively supports quality and process improvement activities.

Ensures that the paint and chemicals usage log is accurately maintained on a daily basis.

Other duties as assigned.

Prepare surfaces utilizing abrasive blasting and other surface preparation techniques, as specified, safely and efficiently.

Apply specific coating material utilizing airless conventional spray equipment, plural pumps and brushes, and rollers, as specified, safely and efficiently.

Correctly utilize appropriate paint testing equipment.

Perform routine equipment maintenance and maintain all equipment issued, including but not limited to: , safety glasses, respirator, and coveralls.

Reinforce training of existing personnel in required equipment use, safety and upgrading skill level.

Immediately notify job supervisor of damages, breakdowns, accidents and safety issues.

Report all injuries to him/herself or others immediately, without delay, following an accident.

Evaluate weather conditions and recommend appropriate revision of daily project plan to a supervisor.

Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with clients, agencies, and co-workers to promote a quality service image.

Ensure required paperwork and other documentation is completed thoroughly, accurately and in a timely manner.

Physical fitness sufficient to satisfactorily perform daily job duties and assignments, including physically able to lift 50+ pounds, bend, stoop, climb, reach and balance.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

Three plus years industrial painting experience required.

The ability to speak, read and understand English is required.

Knowledge and experience in painting and surface prep techniques.

Good knowledge and understanding of Companies policies and procedures.

Consistently achieve daily schedule of work.

Experience in quality control/quality assurance preferred.

Regular and acceptable attendance and punctuality required.
