Job Summary
We are hiring 2 full-time Custodians/Janitors 6am-2pm and 8am-4:30pm and 1 part-time Floor Maintenance Specialist to perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks at a county government facility. These roles involve ensuring a safe, hygienic, and professional environment through thorough janitorial services. Full-time positions require 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, with possible weekends), while the part-time role is 20-25 hours per week. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to pass required security vetting.
Responsibilities
For All Positions:
Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with facility security guidelines.
Report any maintenance issues or hazards to supervisors promptly.
Custodian/Janitor (Full-Time):
Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, sanitizing restrooms, and emptying trash.
Clean high-touch surfaces, windows (interior only), and common areas to prevent the spread of germs.
Restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
Assist with setup/teardown for events or meetings as needed.
Floor Maintenance Specialist (Part-Time):
Conduct specialized floor care, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and deep cleaning of tile, vinyl, and carpeted surfaces.
Use industrial equipment (e.g., floor buffers, scrubbers) to maintain and restore flooring.
Perform periodic inspections to identify and address wear or damage.
Support general janitorial tasks during peak times.
Requirements and Qualifications
Vetting: All applicants must pass a fingerprint-based background check, drug screening, and any additional county-required security clearances. No prior criminal convictions that would disqualify from government facility access.
Experience: 1-2 years in janitorial or custodial roles preferred; entry-level candidates with strong references considered.
Skills: Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work independently or in a team. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment safety is essential.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Other: Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and flexibility for shifts (including evenings/weekends for part-time). Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
