Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting production equipment/facility systems to ensure efficient and safe operation in a food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Install, adjust, and repair machinery, conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and other equipment.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential mechanical issues and recommend solutions.
Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
Support the implementation of continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
Collaborate with production and sanitation teams to ensure equipment cleanliness and compliance with food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF). Maintain tools, spare parts, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and company policies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.
3+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Technician in food or beverage manufacturing.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of PLC systems, VFD's, pumps, conveyors, food processing, packaging machinery
and bakery equipment. Welding skill are a plus.
Understanding of preventive maintenance programs and work order systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Familiarity with GMP, food safety, and sanitation standards.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in hot, cold, or wet environments.
Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, or overtime as needed.
Pay Rate: $30 to $35 per hour DOE and Interview
