NOW HIRING Baker/ Bakery Assistant for the City of Gardena.
We are looking for fast learning, experienced, pastry prep, cook and bakery assistant with background in cookie/cake production, and bread baking. A Bakery Assistant provides support to bakers and bakery staff by assisting in daily tasks like preparing ingredients, packaging baked goods, and maintaining cleanliness in the bakery.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in Bakery Operations:
- Prepare and measure ingredients for bakers.
- Operate basic bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, and scales.
- Help in baking tasks such as kneading dough, shaping pastries, and preparing icing.
- Monitor baking times and adjust ovens, as necessary.
Cleanliness and Safety:
- Clean bakery equipment, utensils, and work areas according to food safety standards.
- Ensure the bakery is sanitary and free of hazards.
- Follow food hygiene and safety guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications:
-Experience: Previous experience in a bakery or food service environment is a plus.
Skills:
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Ability: Able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and handle repetitive tasks.

-$16-$19.00 DOE
