MACHINE OPERATOR NEEDED
Location: Montebello CA
Shift: 1st (4am-3pm) & 2nd (3pm-1am)
Pay DOE: $20-$22
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Grinding Technician / Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating precision grinding machines and an understanding of close-tolerance machining.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate precision grinders, including surface, rotary, and abrasive belt grinders.
Perform precision grinding on metals and other materials to specified tolerances.
Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
Maintain, adjust, and troubleshoot grinding machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
Work with various materials and finishes according to job specifications.
Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety protocols.
Assist with equipment updates, new setups, and process improvements.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in precision grinding, machining, or related manufacturing preferred.
Knowledge of rotary, surface, and belt grinding equipment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tight-tolerance specifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Basic math and measurement skills.
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with shop tools and maintenance procedures.
Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
