Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Operations Manager/Waste Facility Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our recycling facility. This position ensures the highest standards of safety, operational efficiency, and customer service are met. The Operations Manager/Waste Facility Supervisor will lead and mentor a dedicated team, manage facility operations, engage with customers, and contribute to our growth and competitive edge.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Management:
Facilitate regular safety meetings and implement a comprehensive safety training program.
Conduct routine safety audits and oversee the maintenance and distribution of PPE.
Implement a robust safety incident and accident reporting system.
Training and Development:
Design and implement a structured training program for new hires.
Conduct 90-day reviews for new hires and evaluate employee performance regularly.
Facility Operations:
Ensure the facility operates at peak efficiency and maintain strict compliance with OSHA regulations.
Manage inventory and oversee repairs, ensuring all materials and equipment are in good working condition.
Customer Engagement:
Act as the face of America's Recycling Company to customers, providing knowledgeable responses to inquiries.
Drive initiatives to attract new customers and develop competitive strategies.
Financial Oversight:
Conduct regular reviews of customer accounts and analyze customer activity to enhance retention.
Oversee the setup and management of charge accounts.
Scale House Operations:
Obtain proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of scale software and equipment.
Workforce Management:
Optimize staffing levels and champion cross-training initiatives.
Analyze workforce costs and implement cost-saving measures.
Reporting and Strategic Planning:
Compile and analyze performance data for weekly reports to executive leadership.
Use data-driven analysis to set operational goals and identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in facility or operations management, preferably in the recycling or waste management industry.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
GED or High School Diploma.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a plant or yard.
Experience in a waste facility is a plus.
Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is preferred but not required.
Physical and Environmental Demands:
Exposure to various weather conditions.
Long hours of standing and moving around the yard.
Ability to lift heavy objects.
