We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Exhaust Hood Cleaning Technician to perform thorough cleaning and maintenance of commercial kitchen hood and ventilation systems in compliance with NFPA 96 standards.
Responsibilities
Perform complete cleaning of commercial kitchen exhaust systems, including:
Hood interior & exterior
Filters
Ductwork
Exhaust fans
Roof-mounted fan units
Document all work completed with before/after photos.
Apply certification stickers and complete NFPA-required service reports.
Inspect system components for grease buildup, fire hazards, and needed repairs.
Safely operate pressure washers, degreasers, and related equipment.
Work overnight or early mornings as needed (common for restaurants).
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all safety protocols.
Requirements
Experience in hood cleaning preferred
Must be able to work at heights and in tight spaces.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and handle physical labor.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Understanding of NFPA 96 standards (or willingness to learn).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning.
Knowledge of pressure-washing equipment.
OSHA safety training.
Ability to troubleshoot fan motors, belts, and duct issues.
