Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced technician to join our team as a Duct Cleaning, Firestopping, and Fire Damper Testing Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a range of tasks related to duct cleaning, firestopping, and fire damper testing in various commercial and industrial settings. This is a critical role in ensuring the safety and functionality of HVAC systems and fire protection systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections and cleaning of ductwork systems in accordance with industry standards and guidelines.
- Perform firestopping installations to seal penetrations in walls, floors, and ceilings to prevent the spread of fire and smoke.
- Inspect and test fire dampers to verify their proper operation and compliance with fire codes and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspection results, and any necessary repairs or replacements.
- Collaborate with clients, building owners, project managers, and other team members to coordinate work schedules and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and hazards associated with duct cleaning, firestopping, and fire damper testing activities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to duct cleaning, firestopping, and fire damper testing.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in duct cleaning, firestopping, or fire damper testing is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of HVAC systems, fire protection systems, and related equipment.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, such as NFPA, Joint Commission, and CDPH
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NADCA certification for duct cleaning) are preferred.
