Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and hardworking Weekend Day Porter to join our team. The weekend porter will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, order, and general upkeep of residential and commercial properties. This position requires a proactive individual who can ensure that the properties are consistently clean, well-maintained, and ready for daily use by tenants, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning & Maintenance:
Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, dusting, and trash removal.
Clean and sanitize areas, as needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of entrances, stairways, elevators, and communal areas.
Clean windows, glass doors, and exterior areas as needed.
Restock restrooms with necessary supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels, etc.).
Clean and maintain exterior property areas, including sidewalks, parking lots, and entrances.
Customer & Client Interaction:
Provide courteous and professional service to tenants, clients, and visitors.
Respond promptly to requests for cleaning or maintenance services.
Ensure that properties are well-presented and welcoming.
Waste & Recycling:
Handle and dispose of waste, recycling, and other materials per facility guidelines.
Ensure trash and recycling bins are emptied and properly maintained.
Safety & Security:
Follow all safety and sanitation protocols to ensure the cleanliness and safety of all areas.
Report any security issues or maintenance hazards, and graffiti to management immediately.
Inventory Management:
Keep track of cleaning supplies and equipment; notify supervisor when supplies are running low.
Maintain organization of janitorial vehicle and supply shelves.
Wash laundry rags and pads.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in cleaning, maintenance, or janitorial work (preferably in a residential or commercial setting).
Ability to work independently and take initiative in ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of properties.
Familiarity with cleaning products, equipment, and safety protocols.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks to a high standard.
Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with tenants and team members.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
Flexibility to work in a variety of environments, including residential and commercial buildings.
Has a valid Driver’s License.
Able to drive and care for our company Vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working as a day porter, janitor, or in a similar role.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general maintenance is a plus, not required, but a plus.
Certification or training in cleaning or facility maintenance (OSHA certification, etc.). is not required but, is a plus.
