Our law firm has two full-time associate attorney positions available now and we are looking for the right professional to join our team. You will have the opportunity to learn from senior associates and litigation associates on legal issues and will provide legal counsel to existing clients. You will also be responsible for performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date.
Responsibilities
Ability to think creatively and strategically
Exceptional organizational skills, including time management
Stay up to date on legal authorities and case law
Speak with clients to determine case assessment
Strong interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude
Admission to the California Bar
Experience in Unlawful Detainers preferred
Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice
Qualifications
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school
Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA)
Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam
Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys
