Job Overview
Westside boutique Family Law firm is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Family Law Associate to join our legal team. As a Family Law Associate, you will be responsible for providing legal support and assistance to our attorneys including drafting and responding to discovery, drafting Requests for Order, preparing for depositions, making court appearances and communicating with clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about family law and wants to learn how to litigate complex family law cases from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various cases and legal issues
- Assist in drafting legal documents, including discovery, disclosures, pleadings, and briefs
- Prepare and organize case materials for trial
- Attend client meetings and assist with client communications
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, document management, and scheduling
- Collaborate with attorney and other team members on case strategy and preparation
- Conduct negotiations on behalf of clients
- Assist in the preparation of legal arguments for hearings and trials
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in California
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in legal drafting and writing
- Familiarity with legal research databases such as Westlaw
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- 1-4 years of Family Law experience is a big plus
