Workers’ Compensation Law Firm in North Hollywood, looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to add to the team. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented and work well under pressure with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have pride in work product. This is a fast-paced position that requires critical thinking skills, and the ability to problem-solve.
Skills and Qualifications:
2-3 years as a Legal Secretary in a defense workers compensation law firm.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Adobe Acrobat and Dropbox or other shared cloud storage.
Strong writing, proofreading, spelling and grammar skills.
The ability to adhere to law office procedures
Ability to identify urgent tasks and to prioritize accordingly -
Strong strategic thinking and decision making skills
Ability to manage their time and multitask effectively
Able to display problem-solving skills by developing methods or approaches to getting the work done
Ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure
Ability to adapt to new situations and changing priorities
Knowledge of Merus Case is a plus, but not a requirement
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Screening attorney's calls
Formatting processed dictation transcribed by Sribe4you
Maintaining up-to-date electronic files
Maintaining proof of service lists and medical indexes
Daily review of office calendar, and proactively assisting in the handling of upcoming events.
Determining dates upon which various pleadings must be served and filed, and ensuring service by those dates
Scheduling/coordinating and filing/serving of various documents, medical examinations and other court designated hearings; scheduling depositions
Following up with doctors regarding appointments and reports
Preparing Schedule of Records
