Job description
As our Legal Assistant, you will have the opportunity to support our Personal Injury department by performing high-level administrative and logistical tasks to alleviate responsibilities and ease executive workload.
Daily Tasks:
- Reading, researching, and routing correspondence.
-Draft letters and documents, collect and analyze information, and initiate telecommunications.
-Prepare reports by collecting and analyzing information.
-Process information as requested from records, email, and other related documents and summarize when needed.
-Respond to administrative inquiries and questions.
-Draft demand letters, discovery, briefs, and pleadings.
-Organize and maintain file system, file correspondence and ensure proper indexing and filing of legal documents and other records in office filing system.
-Track and prioritize projects efficiently and sensibly while providing timely follow through on assigned responsibilities and tasks.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification.
Experience and Qualifications:
-Technology skills commensurate with typical modern office work, including working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
-Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently.
-Ability to work independently and be a self-starter, demonstrating an energetic attitude.
-Excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading skills.
-Knowledge of legal terminology, legal and court procedures is preferred.
-Excellent Organizational Skills.
-Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
Schedule: Requires the ability to work 40 Hours a week M-F 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
