Position
We are seeking a Remote Litigation Attorney (Independent Contractor) with 2–3 years of litigation experience and strong knowledge of California civil procedure and courts. This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented attorney who enjoys working independently while maintaining consistent, reliable communication with the firm.
Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of litigation, from pleadings through discovery and motion practice
Draft, review, and file motions, pleadings, and other court documents
Handle case strategy, research, and analysis
Appear remotely (and occasionally in-person, if required) for hearings and proceedings in California courts
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the firm team
Meet deadlines and maintain high-quality work product with minimal supervision
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the California State Bar (active and in good standing)
Must have passed the California Bar Exam and be admitted to practice law in California
2–3 years of litigation experience with demonstrated knowledge of California court procedures
Strong legal research and writing skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases and deadlines
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and reliable in a remote work setting
Contract Details
Independent contractor role
Fully remote position
Flexible schedule with the expectation of meeting case deadlines and court obligations
Compensation commensurate with experience, structured on hourly basis
