Experienced Fence Installation & Construction Manager

Superior Fence and Rail of Northeastern Los Angeles is an industry leader with 100+ branch locations across the US. We partner with a national home improvement chain, multiple home builders and general contractors for fence installation requirements. We are seeking a Fence Installation & Construction Manager for immediate hire. Pay for the Fence Installation & Construction Manager role ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience, and benefits, including health insurance and 401k, will be offered.

Our Fence Installation & Construction Manager should be a self-motivated and results-driven leader to direct, manage and oversee fence installation subcontractors and installers; overall on-site supervision at worksites, running and managing our warehouse and has the ability to engage in a variety of tasks associated with fence installation. Having relationships with fence installers in the industry and being familiar with all aspects of residential fence installation are a must. Typical work week is Monday to Friday. Work consists of picking fence orders, operating a CNC router to fabricate vinyl fence, light carpentry, heavy lifting, and forklift driving.

The successful candidate for this role should possess excellent communication skills, prior fence or construction management experience, knowledge of business functions, job safety knowledge and strong leadership qualities.

Job Responsibilities:

- Develop expertise in fence industry product, technical and process knowledge

- Lead and develop all aspects of fence installation and warehouse operations

- Find and onboard top quality installation subcontractors (licensed, bonded and insured) and develop in-house installation teams

- Ensures subcontractors and lead installers properly supervise their crews in transporting supplies and equipment, and installing fencing structures; assures they are supplied with proper tools and materials and using them appropriately and effectively

- Ensures installation instructions, drawings, and/or specifications are interpreted and followed correctly

- Work with office team to schedule installations

- Conduct pre-installation walkthroughs with customers to answer questions and to identify possible installation issues and change orders

- Visit fence installation crews during installation to inspect quality and standards and handle onsite questions and issues

- Address customer concerns post-installation and problem solve with the installers on effective resolutions

- Work with installers to coordinate and complete repairs and adjustments as needed

- Maintain professionalism of installers and respond immediately to employee issues and customer needs

- Oversee production activities at the warehouse related to preparing and staging jobs for installation

- Transport staged installation materials to job sites as required via truck and trailer

- Operate the CNC router and miter saw machinery to fabricate fence materials

- Complete all materials ordering, including, but not limited to, wood, vinyl, chain link, steel/iron and aluminum truckloads; order and track job lot special orders

- Work with office team to ensure job breakdowns are accurate, complete and entered correctly

- Learn and maintain knowledge of how to pull orders and ensure all jobs are loaded for installation sites correctly

- Receive truckload and less than truckload (LTL) deliveries and reconcile with purchase orders

- Ensure that the warehouse and work areas are maintained in an organized manner and clean and free of debris

- Ensure safety and appropriate operation of equipment

- Ensure quality control inspections are being done in a consistent manner

- Conduct on-site safety inspections, ongoing safety training and review accident reporting

- Track and complete vehicle and machinery maintenance

- Ensure the operations team is consistently achieving efficiency standards to meet Superior Fence and Rail benchmarks

- Interact with customers, co-workers, subcontractors and vendors in a pleasant and professional manner

- Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

- 3 or more years of prior Fence or Construction Management - being familiar with all aspects of residential fence installation and having a network of fence installers are a must. Commercial fence installation experience is a plus

- Highly skilled in verbal and written communications

- Basic experience with computer operations and appropriate software (preferably with Google apps)

- Ability to read plans and give and follow instructions

- Ability to learn all the products used and be able to locate product in the warehouse and yard

- Forklift certification is required

- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to and from the warehouse

- Ability to problem solve with a positive attitude

- Ability to interpret, obey and supervise others regarding applicable safety regulations

- Highly detail oriented with organizational skills

- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

- Ability to treat others with respect and gain trust and respect from subordinates, supervisors, and customers
