Job Overview:
Join our team as a Quality Technician in LONG BEACH,CA . The Quality Technician’s role is to maintain production flowing through our inventory system while monitoring work order progress with each received lot while performing
inspections per lot based on acceptable quality limits, inspecting for general and product specific defects. They are to receive the finished goods both electronically into our inventory system and physically into their appropriate locations according to final part disposition.
Qualification:
Prior Experience as an Operator on the Production Floor
Basic math skills and excellent communication abilities
Must be certified as forklift driver/Must have a valid Driver License to operator a forklifts
Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time
Multitask, ability to work on different areas, with good organizational skills and interface with other departments
Familiarity with assembly line processes and procedures
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality Technicians are responsible for product conformance. Product should meet all visual and dimensional requirements. The Quality Technician will move finished goods from the press to FG staging area and perform an AQL per batch. Should the pallet pass the AQL they will be responsible for labeling the product, wrapping the pallet, and
entering the final finished good into inventory. If the pallet does not pass AQL, they will be responsible for the disposition of the product and processing for QA-HOLD.
Move completed pallets from the press to the finished goods staging area by means of forklift or pallet jack
Use Mattec “Real Time Display” to view the current jobs and predict daily outputs, use cycle times to calculate; see nominal cycles
Conduct periodic intervals, checking for completed pallets to be pulled or AQL and label pallets on production lines as needed
Provide necessary pallet type per the specifications of the B.O.M. for palletizing
Perform AQL per pallet, inspecting the product for any specific and general defects
Approve batches, place a blue inspected label with the date and ID # on boxes inspected boxes
Reject batches, provide disposition of the said product, rework, sort, or place in HOLD only if absolutely necessary
When sorting production, discard defective product and place the acceptable product back to the line to fill and report the scrap in the work order
Report any non-conformances to shift supervisor or cell leader and QA Auditor via verbal and electronic reports
Fill out required information for move tickets for finished goods
Receive finished goods into Empower using production receipt module, verify accuracy of transaction using production history report
Conduct start-up checks for molds, colors, and equipment.
Perform inspections and ensure operators follow procedures.
Manage work order transitions and report issues to supervisors.
Follow the QA-HOLD process for non-conforming products.
Perform data entry, close work orders, and provide shift reports.
