Under the general supervision of the Southern California Rehabilitation
Services CPO, the Area Director will work with the CRS Management
Team to provide high quality Independent Living services through the
Employment Services programs, CFS Programs, CCP Program, and
E.D.G.E Programs and be responsible for managing the activities,
compliance, and program growth of the Program Supervisors. The Area
Director will oversee Regional Center Program contract(s) deliverables,
monitoring services and activities to ensure compliance and consistency
with Independent Living Philosophy. Additionally, the Area Director
will oversee the expansion of services.
Essential Job
Duties and
Responsibilities
1. Providing oversight of day-to-day operations of the ES, CFS, CCP,
E.D.G.E. Services and additional programs assigned.
2. Provide support to Program Supervisors, Coordinators, and staff.
3. Work with CPO and HR Director to recruit and hire employees, reward
or provide corrective action (including termination); assure employees
are current with benefits enrollment and other personnel requirements.
4. Provide employee evaluations as indicated in policy.
5. Provide staff orientation, staff development opportunities and coordinate
training.
6. Hold regular supervisor meetings to provide necessary information,
support, and networking.
7. Assure employees have necessary tools to carry out their work,
including innovative curriculum, timely reimbursements for expenses,
etc.
8. Initiate and monitor Program Services Assigned to assure all existing
communities are served, coordinating staff with location to best meet the
needs of the program offices and the consumers.
9. Provide a system of Quality Assurance.

10. Assist and assure that staff are entering and documenting consumers in
the data base. Monitor accuracy of client data to ensure accurate
reporting to the Dept. of Rehabilitation, ACL, SILC, and Regional
Centers.
11. Responsible for the billing process, including timely submission of
complete billing documentation from employees, monitoring and
contacting employees if documents are missing, and submitting final
complete billing packets to the Financial Department within designated
time frame.
12. Approve expenditures as needed.
13. Prepare for funding/compliance audits and reviews.
14. Prepare monthly reports for CPO.
15. Represent agency to public and private entities for purposes of outreach,
public relations, and fund development.
16. Provide a warm, friendly, and supportive atmosphere in the office, as
well as while out in the community.
17. Is able to provides all stages of IL Services and Program Services
including intake, assessments, ILP, and referral services.
18. Establishes and maintains consumer file in CIL Management Suites
Data Base and hard copy binders for RC Services.
19. Completes monthly billing reports in a complete and timely manner and
sends to CRS billing department by due dates.
20. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Physical Demands
1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human
Relations, Psychology, or related field required.
2. Experience: 3 to 5 years of practical experience with knowledge of
the Independent Living Philosophy.
3. Essential motor skills: Able to: operate a computer terminal, printer,
copier and fax machine, and telephone.
Able to sit for long periods of time, reach, bend, handle, twist; digital dexterity;
file documents and retrieve them from filing cabinets; carry/lift a maximum of
25 pounds. Ground and Air Travel to various community offices, statewide
meetings and others as necessary. Attend various outreach and community
education events.
