The Position:
We are seeking a full-time bilingual CalWORKs/TYS Case Manager to join our CalWORKs team. This role supports clients by creating individualized plans, teaching life and job skills, and linking them to community, educational, and vocational resources. The role includes system navigation, promoting coping and social skills, maintaining compliant documentation, and collaborating with providers to support client progress.
What You’ll Do
Manage an active caseload of CalWORKs and TAY clients, including engagement of new referrals. Develop individualized case management plans to support clients' goals and needs. Coordinate care with therapists, psychiatrists, and other treatment team members.
Teach coping, communication, stress management, and independent living skills. Help clients navigate social service systems and attend community appointments as needed. Connect clients to educational, vocational, and community resources, including college and job training programs. Facilitate career exploration, job readiness activities, and internet-based job searches.
Promote healthy relationships, self-care, and engagement in pro-social activities. Maintain accurate documentation per agency and DMH guidelines while meeting productivity standards. Attend team meetings, supervision, and required agency trainings.
Full-time (40 hours per week), schedule is based on the needs of the clients/center.
This position is fully onsite.
Starting Salary: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour commensurate on experience.
Qualifications
Bilingual Spanish/English required
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
Ability to gather and assess information under pressure, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Good judgment and decision-making abilities in a clinical setting.
Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and a commitment to improving quality and building skills.
Consistently punctual, reliable, and able to complete projects and reports on time.
Works effectively as part of a team, maintaining a respectful and collaborative attitude toward others.
Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, or other relevant field. A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. High School Diploma or GED Required.
