This Home

Our Home includes up to 6 male clients ages 14-18. We are committed to empowering the youth and are committed to having them get how great they are, how loved they are, and how supported they are.

Position Overview

The Direct Care Staff is responsible for modeling and teaching social, independent living skills. This position supervises, supports, and guides teens in a safe, therapeutic, and empowering environment in residential care, and provides emotional regulation and behavioral support. They are also willing to be trained and developed into leaders through courses and programs funded by us.

Responsibilities

(1) Provides regular and consistent supervision of all youth under care throughout the day

(2) Actively interact with youth, develops and maintains constructive relationships, and serves as a positive role model using appropriate limit-setting and structuring techniques within the boundaries of our nonprofit residential care practices.

(3) Provides for the basic health needs of the youth with the assistance of the medical staff to include providing proper medication administration, teaching personal hygiene routines, diet and first aid for minor injuries and providing access to medical care.

(4) Applies crisis intervention with youth to include primary preventative measures before a child requires further disciplinary action, or change of placement.

(5) Uses agency vehicle(s) to transport residents for routine community activities, school, court appointments, medical appointments, family visits, emergency situations, and any other required and/or scheduled appointments.

Other Requirements

-At least 21 years of age

-Must be coachable and bring LOVE daily

-Reliable and able to be counted on to show up

-Willing to be trained and developed through courses and programs

-Committed to your well-being, health and wellness—active hobbies etc…

-Possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license

-Clear fingerprint background screening through the Department of Justice, FBI and Child Abuse Index

-Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills and patience for a diverse population

-Ability to use and navigate Word and Excel

-Powerfully deal with challenging circumstances

-Spend a portion of time with the youth indoors and outdoors
