Are you a dog lover in need of some puppy love this holiday season? Can you give a big dog a place to crash for a few weeks or longer?
Ace of Hearts is a Non-Profit Dog Rescue based in Los Angeles that saves dogs from the shelters, giving them a new chance at life!
We need loving Fosters to provide temporary homes for rescued dogs while we seek "Furever" homes. Since we rescue from shelters, some dogs may be traumatized so we need people who will make them feel secure, comfortable and confident. It's incredibly gratifying when these shy & fearful dogs gain your trust. And it's just as gratifying to receive unconditional love from confident dogs. You will provide loving care & updates on their personalities and we will provide everything else (a bed, food, treats, toys, supplies & vet care).
WE NEED FOSTERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH DOGS AND ARE COMFORTABLE WITH LARGE DOGS.
We are also ESPECIALLY in need of fosters who can help over the holidays If you're available over any of the upcoming winter holidays (e.g. Christmas, New Years, etc) and can help foster a dog for 1-2 weeks, PLEASE reach out
Here are some of our dogs who are most URGENTLY in need of new foster homes!
Raffi - a sweet 2 year old lab/boxer mix who loves people and other dogs. He loves to play and wants to be everyone's best friend. Raffi needs to be in a home with no cats. He is great with other dogs, big and small, and LOVES having a four-legged friend to pal around with. Raffi has no medical concerns and is looking for a loving foster to care for him until his forever home is found.
Logan- 3 year old, border collie/lab mix. He's awaiting leg surgery, so can't exercise much these days.
Sabrina - sweet, 6 year old mastiff mix. Sabrina can be shy with new people and may give a warning growl or snap if approached when she’s not ready. However, once she builds trust, she becomes deeply affectionate and very attached to her people. She gets along well with mellow dogs and will thrive in a calm household where she can feel safe and loved.
If you have a compassionate heart and are ready to provide a supportive and caring home for a special dog like Sabrina, you’ll find a loyal and loving companion in her.
Joining our foster program is an extremely rewarding experience - you get to help rehabilitate dogs that were left to die at the shelter, giving them a second chance to be adopted, our fosters are true heroes!
What we need from you:
-To be 21+ (if under 21, then to have parent approval)
-To foster until the dog is adopted - or at least 2-4 weeks if you can't make that commitment. (NOTE: If you cannot commit to a few weeks, BUT can commit to fostering for a few days in cases of emergency, please still reach out and let us know! It's always great to have fosters who can help in short-term cases)
-To have reliable transportation and be able to bring them to our adoption event in West Hollywood every other Saturday and to a vet of our choice for wellness appointments, spay/neuter appointments, and other appointments as necessary.
-To be comfortable with large breeds! We're a bully breed rescue and most of our pups weigh 50-90 pounds. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY IF YOU CAN ONLY FOSTER SMALL DOGS.
-To have NO CHILDREN UNDER 10, CATS, OR SMALL DOGS in your home (PLEASE do not inquire if you have children or cats, other LARGE dogs are okay! PLEASE do not inquire if you have small dogs)
-To be able to start immediately
-To have already discussed this with all landlords/managers/spouses etc. and have their approval, please do not reply if you don't.
If you have any questions, please reach out! Help us save lives!
Please provide your phone number and personal email so we can contact you! WE WILL NOT RESPOND IF YOU DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER AND EMAIL.
Thank you for your time and care! With the help of our fosters, we can save more dogs and help each of these sweet babies have a second chance at a wonderful life!
