Program Coordinator

LA SCORES is a dynamic nonprofit organization that empowers youth through soccer, poetry, creative expression, and community service. We are committed to fostering holistic development and creating a safe and supportive environment for children to thrive on and off the field.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Program Coordinator to join our team. This hybrid position requires a candidate who can effectively manage both remote and in-person responsibilities, with availability to attend programs, GameDays, and special events in person.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Coordination

Plan, organize, and oversee LA SCORES programs, including soccer practices, poetry workshops, and service-learning projects.

Maintain consistent communication with coaches, volunteers, and community partners to ensure program quality and alignment with organizational goals.

Coordinate program schedules, site logistics, and resources to facilitate smooth operations.

Act as the primary point of contact for program sites, addressing needs and challenges as they arise.

Event Support

Be present in person during program times, GameDays, and special events to oversee logistics and ensure successful execution.

Collaborate with the events team to plan and execute GameDays, tournaments, showcases, and fundraising events.

Engage with families, participants, and community stakeholders during events to strengthen relationships and represent LA SCORES.

Administrative Duties

Track program data, attendance, and impact metrics; prepare regular reports for leadership and stakeholders.

Assist in recruiting, training, and supporting coaches and volunteers to maintain a high standard of program delivery.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, including safety and risk management protocols.

Community Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, community organizations, and partners to expand program reach and impact.

Represent LA SCORES at community meetings, events, and workshops to promote the mission and recruit participants and supporters.

Qualifications:

High School diploma, Bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, sports management, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).

Experience coordinating youth programs, events, or activities, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment and collaboratively with a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Familiarity with youth development best practices and culturally responsive programming.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and virtual communication tools.

Availability for in-person commitments during program times, GameDays, and special events.

Requirements:

Must have reliable transportation to attend in-person programming and events across Los Angeles.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Physical ability to set up and break down program/event equipment as required.

Background check and TB test clearance prior to employment.
