Grace Clinic is seeking a compassionate, adaptable Medical Assistant / Patient Coordinator to support both clinical and administrative areas of our growing clinic. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys direct patient interaction and can transition smoothly between front desk and medical assisting tasks, and wants to grow from part-time to full-time as patient volume increases.

Clinical / Patient Care Duties
Room patients and prepare them for visits
Take vital signs, document chief complaint, and record medical history and medications
Perform point-of-care testing (urine dip, glucose, pregnancy tests, strep, etc.)
Assist providers with exams, procedures, and wound care
Administer injections within scope of training
Draw blood for labs (venipuncture and finger sticks)
Ensure exam rooms and clinical areas are clean, stocked, and ready
Medical Coordination & Support
Process prescription refill requests in Athena according to clinic protocols
Handle referral coordination, including gathering records, sending documentation, and following up with specialists
Review and communicate lab results, provider notes, and follow-up instructions to patients
Assist with prior authorizations, pharmacy questions, and medication list reconciliation
Support chronic care management activities as assigned
Work closely with NPs/PAs to maintain efficient patient flow and ensure continuity of care
Administrative Support (minimal)
Assist with patient check-in when needed
Assist with answering phones and patient communication when needed
Document patient interactions and completed tasks in Athena Health
Support patient education, follow-up calls, and navigation of clinic resources
Process patient payments using Square as needed (not a primary duty)
Manage clinic supply inventory and items to be ordered.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Medical Assistant training/certification
At least 2 years of experience in a medical clinic setting
Strong clinical skills and willingness to learn new responsibilities
Comfort using or learning Athena Health
Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients of all ages and backgrounds
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced clinical environment
Commitment to serving uninsured patients from diverse financial and demographic backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual English/Spanish
Experience in a nonprofit, community health, or uninsured-patient setting
Experience with referrals, prescription refill workflows, or care coordination
Prior use of Square or similar payment systems
Phlebotomy experience
CPR/BLS certification
Schedule & Compensation
Part-Time to Full-Time: 24–32 hours initially; growing to 36–40 hours as clinic demand increases
Clinic hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 - 4:00 PM (occasional Saturdays, evenings, special events).
