Job Description: Project Manager - Medical Grade Networking Upgrade

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead a critical upgrade of our medical-grade network infrastructure. This project is essential for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network, which supports vital patient care systems and operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing complex IT projects, preferably within a healthcare environment.
Job Summary:
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and completion of the medical-grade network upgrade project. This includes managing the project scope, budget, timeline, resources, and risks, while ensuring adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, FDA). The Project Manager will collaborate closely with internal IT teams, external vendors, and clinical staff to ensure seamless integration and minimal disruption to patient care.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning: Develop a comprehensive project plan, including scope definition, detailed work breakdown structure (WBS), resource allocation, budget, schedule, and communication plan.
Project Execution: Manage the execution of the project plan, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks and issues. Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate project updates and progress to all stakeholders, including IT staff, clinical staff, executive leadership, and vendors. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors involved in the project, ensuring they deliver services and products according to agreed-upon terms and timelines.
Budget Management: Monitor and control project budget, track expenses, and ensure cost-effectiveness.
Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the upgraded network meets performance, security, and reliability requirements.
Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with relevant regulations and industry best practices, including HIPAA and other healthcare-related regulations.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk registers, and lessons learned.
Project Closure: Conduct a formal project closure process, including final reporting, documentation archiving, and post-project review.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
PMP certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex IT projects.
Experience in managing network infrastructure projects, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Strong understanding of networking technologies, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and network security.
Knowledge of medical-grade network requirements and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, FDA).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with1 project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Jira).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare applications.
Knowledge of ITIL framework.
Experience with change management methodologies.
