Ecotech Resources, Inc. (www.ecotechresources.com) is an environmental consulting firm based in Berkeley, California. Our mission is to provide the same level of experience and specialization expected from a large firm but in a nimble, responsive, and efficient small-firm footprint. Ecotech is certified as a Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) and a Small Business – Micro Business (SB-MB). In business since 2014, we have acted primarily as a specialty subcontractor but are occasionally the prime. Job Description
Ecotech Resources, Inc. is seeking one or more California-based geologists, biologists, engineers, or other related environmental professionals with a strong background in research and writing. This position is on a part-time, as-needed, hourly basis. Work is entirely remote, though site visits in California may be required for some projects. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in interesting, diverse high-level projects in a flexible business environment working for a small local firm. You may work either as a W-2 temporary Ecotech employee or as an independent contractor if you are a sole proprietor and already have an established business.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct environmental and regulatory code research and interpretation for various applications.
- Review and evaluate environmental reports and analyze data.
- Perform Phase I environmental site assessments, due diligence investigations, biological surveys and monitoring, stormwater audits, and/or wetlands delineations.
- Write and edit environmental reports and other documents.
- Work cooperatively with a small team on a wide variety of environmental projects.
- Participate in proposals and marketing endeavors to maintain and grow the business.
- Conduct site visits on occasion when needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an environmental discipline.
- 3+ years of environmental project experience.
- Attention to detail and excellent research, reading comprehension, and report writing skills.
- Ability to work from home (remotely) on a flexible, as-needed basis, as projects become active.
- Adaptable and eager to expand your knowledge base and skill set by working in new areas.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
- Working experience with any of the following a plus: CEQA documentation, environmental and regulatory due diligence, stormwater management, impact assessment, mitigation monitoring, Phase I ESAs, regulatory compliance, green energy support and planning, wetlands delineation, or biological surveys and monitoring.
Hours, terms of employment, and pay rate are negotiable and to be determined, but pay will range from $50 to $100 /hour depending on experience and qualifications.
