INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN (DIAMOND BAR, CA)
Sierra Cybernetics is seeking THREE (3) Instrument Technicians to support our Diamond Bar client The South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD).
This field job requires DRIVING YOUR OWN PERSONAL VEHICLE to various locations in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties, to operate and maintain a variety of electromechanical equipment and instrumentation used in monitoring air pollutants, such as gaseous and particulate air contaminants, and atmospheric conditions. MILEAGE WILL BE REIMBURSED.
You will retrieve and replace filters, canisters, and other sampling media; and deliver these samples to the laboratory (located in Diamond Bar, CA) following prescribed chain-of-custody procedures along with complete logs and reports as required, and perform other related duties, as needed.
This assignment will require travel to various locations throughout the four-County metropolitan area (Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties). Assignments may require driving to Mecca near the Salton Sea.
Your schedule is expected to be four 10-hour days, Tuesday through Friday.
You may start as early as 6:00 a.m. It is necessary for samples to be collected as early as possible and delivered to the laboratory in Diamond Bad, CA for analysis.
Sample collection is critical and frequent absences are grounds for dismissal.
FLEXIBILITY AND DEPENDABILITY ARE CRITICAL IN THIS ASSIGNMENT.
This assignment is expected to last approximately 6-12 months

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
EDUCATION:
Completion of significant college coursework in electronics, engineering, physics, chemistry or related fields OR directly transferable experience. Education claimed will be verified
Original transcripts required. (Foreign degrees MUST have been formally evaluated for equivalency.)
ABILITY TO:
Operate electronic and mechanical instrumentation; maintain
Service and perform routine preventive maintenance of instruments and equipment at air monitoring and meteorological stations
Manipulate and climb ladders
Communicate clearly in English and understand/follow oral and written instructions
Respond to emergency service calls in a timely manner
Prepare and maintain logs, records, and reports; and perform related duties.
LICENSE:
California Class C Driver License and auto insurance that meets California requirements.
