GSSi, Inc. is seeking armed security officers for charter schools in the greater Los Angeles area. This not an entry-level position, it requires 3 yrs armed experience. School experience is preferred. There are additional benefits and perks to this position that can be discussed during the interview.
All officers will receive additional paid training and certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (3-4 hour interactive course).
Pay Rate: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour to start (DOE), Full-Time.
Schedule: Dayshift Monday through Friday 10:30am-7:00pm
Minimum Requirements:
1. BSIS guard card
2. BSIS Firearm permit
3. Tear Gas/OC permit
4. Baton (optional)
5. Must own personal firearm and 3 magazines (9mm, .38, .40, or .45)
6. Good customer service/people skills
7. Professional appearance and demeanor
8. Ability to stand, walk for extended periods
9. Basic understanding of safety principles and practices
10. First Aid/CPR (GSSi can assist w/certification)
11. Must have at least 3 years verifiable experience as an armed officer
12. Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, medical screening, and FBI/DOJ background check
13. Ability to work OT, weekends, holidays.
Duties:
1. Serve as deterrent to criminal activity on school premises
2. Observe and report
3. Documentation of all activity, incidents
4. Remain visible; remain calm in emergency situations.
5. Patrols of campus
6. Respond with urgency to calls for service
7. Remain free of unnecessary distractions on the job
8. Assist staff with promoting a safe environment for students
9. Investigate suspicious activity
10. Notify law enforcement during emergencies
