GSSi, Inc. is seeking security officers to work as part-time rover/flex officers or stand-by rovers. You may be given 2 set days you will work every week or you can work more hours as a rover at different sites, it's UP TO YOU. We have a lot of positions and posts all over So. Cal. There is a lot of flexibility and opportunity for you to build and/or enhance your weekly income.
Rovers may have schedules that have them working at multiple locations throughout the week. We also have positions as Stand-By Rovers. If hired as a Stand-By Rover, you are assigned to post up at our LA office and paid for being on stand-by hours even if not called out to a post. This is not a full-time position but most officers working this position end up with 40+ hours per week If you are hired just to cover 2 days and that's all you need this is fine as well. There are multiple shifts available and a variety of locations each week.
We need rovers to assist with:
1. Special Events/Open Shifts/Officer vacations/Sick call outs/etc
2. Additional security needs at various posts including vehicle patrol, hospitals, residential HOA, specialized assignments.
3. Open Weekend Shifts
Rover Pay Rate: $18.50-$20.00 Varies by assignment
General Duties:
1. Observe and report
2. Complete documentation/logs
3. Report suspicious activity to staff
Some posts may require additional training for specific job functions and duties.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Valid BSIS guard card
2. Minimum 6 months experience as a security officer
3. Reliable transportation to and from work
4. Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods
5. Good customer service
6. Good written and verbal communication skills.
7. Flexible availability which includes ability to work OT and WEEKENDS.
8. This position requires the use of a personal smartphone capable of running the TrackTik app for timekeeping and reporting. A weekly phone financial stipend is paid to employees using their phone for employment purposes. Phone must have data and GPS capabilities
Specific posts may require additional qualifications/permits, GSSi may assist qualified applicants with required permits.
