theCoderSchool Walnut Code Coach
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Code Coach to teach young learners the fundamentals of computer programming and more. This is a part-time, in-person position at the Walnut location and you will work as a instructor for the kids from 5-20 hours/week (same times weekly). These hours can generally be sometime between 2:30 to 7:30pm weekdays or 9:00am - 4:00pm on Saturday. As a Code Coach, you will play a crucial role in fostering an excitement for technology, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
Create and teach engaging lessons using age-appropriate languages, platforms or fields. Be able to reverse-engineer games or concepts, and adapt it to a student's interests and skills.
Provide personalized guidance and support to students, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their goals through individualized project-based lessons.
Show up on time, manage lesson content with 1 to 2 students in a structured, engaging manner, take notes, maintain open communication with parents, share student progress, and address concerns, within each session
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of fundamental programming concepts and experience with various coding languages and tech.
Experience working with children in an educational or tutoring setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students and parents.
Enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to inspiring young minds.
Requirements
Reliable transportation to theCoderSchool Walnut (Walnut, 91789)
U.S. Citizens or Permanent Green-Card only; clean criminal background check required (no Felony, Misdemeanor or DUI convictions)
Benefits:
Depends on experience, $18-22 per hour
